Not to be rude, but I am going to be. I would rather dine at a soup kitchen. the marinara sauce was too acidic, the calamari app looked like bait, our food took forever and was overpriced for overcooked and undercooked pieces of pasta, and I am not sure if the chef knows the difference between linguine and spaghetti, because whatever they gave us looked like someone Else's order, not to mention the fact that the calamari appetizer that was "compliments of the chef" was obviously a mistake they were pawning off on us. We should have taken it to go, taken the boat out, went fishing with our complimentary appetizer, and caught our own dinner. FAIL

We tried Cafe Frankie's last night and it was far better food than the typical fare. Pasta specials were presented on trays, we sampled home made ravioli which was splendid and a beef shank marinated and cooked for nine hour over Gnocchi which was excellent. Service was very pleasant. A small but good wine selection and excellent fresh desserts rounded out a great meal. We sat outside and even though it's a strip mall the proximity to the intracoastal helped improve the feel and fresh breeze.

had their calamari appetizer. it was good but lacked flavor. perhaps a side dipping sauce would have worked nicely. the pizza had a sweet taste to it- maybe their tomato sauce has this quality and definitely something that in my personal taste threw me off but others might love. service was excellent. tiny local spot, quaint with beach town feel. our pizza was a bit overcooked. good special offers. will have to try some of their other dishes to complete my review at a later time.

Been to Frankie's three times. First time had a pizza and sat at the counter. Ordered a Margarita pizza. Was shocked when the pizza came and was made with tomato sauce and no sliced tomatoes. Major blunder. The second time we sat outside and ordered pasta dishes. Food was just OK, but way overpriced for a pizza joint. We thought we would give it one more chance and went on a Friday night and sat inside. Went at 8:30 in the evening and were seated immediately. Sat for 10 mins and no service. The wait staff was poorly managed. All the waitress were actually power walking back and forth. Finally flagged down a bus boy and asked to alert someone to wait on us.A waitress finally came to our table, out of breath and rattle off the specials so fast we did not understand a word. She ran off and 5 mins later another waitress appears haggard and face full of sweat. After 30 mins, we finally got food and to make a long story shorter, food was overpriced for the food quality. The table across form us had a similar service problem. Two couples, the men were done eating their pasta dishes and the women that ordered ravioli were served after the men finished. Would not go back to Frankie's. Overpriced for food quality. There are many better restaurants for the money.

Had a family meal here, shortly after arriving. Ate outside, and never even saw the inside, so I can't comment on the interior at all. Services was excellent, specials were presented (on a rack displaying each special) by the owner of the restaurant. Jessie, our server, was very attentive and put up with our nonsense. Food was very good as well. Menu included a number of solid Italian favorites, I had a veal special, veal Valentino. Very tasty, but a little heavy. The roasted garlic and pesto served with the bread was a nice touch. Overall, a nice moderately expensive Italian restaurant to go to with family, friends, or a date.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
